(Position is located 30 minutes from Providence, RI – Worcester, MA – New London, CT – Willimantic, CT)

Description:

A part-time opening is available in Dayville, CT, for an aspiring individual to join the community prevention program. The Community Prevention Program implements prevention strategies targeting school-age students and 30-day active substance use in our local communities. Candidates must be comfortable interacting with community members of all ages (school staff, business owners, town employees, parents, and students). Responsibilities include coordinating the Partnership in Connecticut Communities program, building and maintaining a community coalition, coordinating outreach and community education efforts with local partners, and completing reports on program activities. Candidates will attend continuing education to support them in this role. Candidates will support youth peer advocates assigned to their program and agency initiatives for preventing and treating substance misuse and mental health awareness.

Schedule:

32 hours/week. Flexible schedule with some evenings to meet program needs.

Minimum Requirements:

A Bachelor’s Degree in health education, community/public health, human resources, or a related field is required. Master’s Degree preferred.

Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) or willing to obtain certification

Salary Range:
  • $18.54 – $20.98 per hour depending on experience.
  • Bilingual Spanish Fluency: $19.48 – $22.04 per hour depending on experience.
