Our New Home is Now Open!
On June 5, 2019, our longtime dream became reality with the opening of the Windham Regional Health and Wellness Center.
This state-of-the-art, 28,000 square foot building was constructed with an array of green technology, including solar panels, geothermal heat and electric vehicle charging stations.
Other key features include:
- Co-located health and social service programs for adults, children and families
- Located on the WRTD public transit line
- New programs for the Windham area: Medication Assisted Treatment
- The Jewett City Savings Bank Community Room, which offers a spacious facility for trainings or meetings for community organizations.
- A training kitchen for education on healthy eating and cooking for wellness program participants or for use for family dinners during reunification/visitation time.
- Prepared spaces for primary care integration when state or federal funding becomes available.
- Genoa Pharmacy is located within the building, allowing individuals with limited transportation to also receive their medications at the time of the appointments.
With a focus on wellness, USI’s new Center offers the space to deliver innovative services and meet the community need for comprehensive services in one accessible location.
Since 2007 United Services has seen its Outpatient Behavioral Health Services volume more than double, rising more than 250 percent.
Recognizing the skyrocketing demand for Behavioral Health and related services, United Services has largely self-financed the $13 million expansion and consolidation project, utilizing both federal and local bank loans as well as corporate donations raised through the Neighborhood Assistance Act and community donations.
You can invest in the mental wellness of your community by supporting United Services and the programs we offer that make a real difference to real people every day.
Donations can be designated to the Windham Regional Health and Wellness Center or to individual programs, so your impact is made directly where you want it to be.
Any gift is meaningful and helps children, adults and families—our friends and neighbors—access services in times of crisis or build the skills they need to live a full and independent life.
