Telehealth FAQ
What is telehealth?
- Telehealth is the remote delivery of health care services and clinical information by use of electronic technology over the Internet.
Is telehealth safe?
- Telehealth is guided by medical best practices and standard-of-care policies. Our telehealth platform, Backline, is also compliant with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.
What services can be provided over telehealth?
- We are now able to provide individual and family therapy sessions over telehealth, as well as intakes, medication evaluations and medication checks. We are not able to do group therapy at this time. All family members must be in the same location for family therapy.
Do I need a computer to participate?
- You are able to participate via a computer enabled with speakers and a webcam, an internet-enabled tablet or an internet-enabled smartphone.
Do I really have to be on camera?
- Yes, telehealth is designed to be as close to an office visit as possible, requiring both parties to see each other/be on camera.
Will I be recorded?
- No, our telehealth solution doesn’t allow for either party to record a session.
Will I have a co-pay?
- Expect the same co-pay as you would have for an office visit. Some commercial insurers have said they will waive the co-pays for telehealth visits for a limited time. If you have questions, you can call your insurer or call Client Accounts at 860-774-2020 and we will try to help answer your questions as best we can.
